Youngest power boat racer a pocket rocket | The Advocate

Fearless Lower Barrington pocket rocket Luke Barnes turned 10 a few months ago. He’s the youngest driver to compete in the junior power boat races at the 63rd ICG Devonport Regatta on February 28. In his first season, his mentor is John Palmer Memorial Cock of the Mersey winner Nigel Palmer who owns the boat Luke drives called “little shocker” after his boat “shockwave”. Older brother Jake, 14, also competes in the adrenaline sport in his second season.
