A 20-year-old Wynyard man is the sole objector to a council proposal to sell public land containing a playground. Brandon Walker has written to the Waratah-Wynyard Council about its plans to sell the block at 9 Martin Street, Wynyard. Councillors will vote on Monday night about whether to place the land on the open market, as recommended in a council officer’s report. Mr Walker, also a Martin Street resident, was concerned the community was not well enough informed about the council’s intention to sell the block, and that the loss of the park and playground would be significant.
