The time to reach for those winter woolies will soon be upon us, with the North-West expected to experience a cold snap over the coming days. The Bureau of Meteorology forecasted a cold front would cross Tasmania on Thursday afternoon and evening, followed by another weaker cold front on Friday morning. “A ridge will drift over the state during Friday afternoon. “A vigorous cold front is expected to cross on Saturday morning then the flow will tend colder southwesterly in the evening. “A strong south westerly stream will persist on Sunday.” In the North-West region, temperatures are forecasted to plummet overnight into Friday, dropping between seven and 10 degrees, with daytime temperatures reaching 11 and 16.
