Kye Savage top-scores in Tasmania’s win over Victoria Country at the Under 18 National Championships | The Advocate

Devonport’s Kye Savage had led Tasmania’s under 18 team to victory on day two of the National Championships in Victoria. Savage top-scored with 21 points as the Nathan Brereton-coached team took down Victoria Country 83-70 at Werribee’s Eagle Stadium. Scores were tied heading into the final quarter, but strong scoring from Savage and Penguin’s Ryley Haywood (11 points) saw the Tasmanian side surge away in the final minutes. The result comes after a 85-57 loss to Western Australia Metro on Saturday’s opening day. A poor first half hurt Tasmania, with Haywood’s 13 points equal top score for the side.
